PRICE IS PER ONE pot.
This is a listing for a rare, beautiful old antique French harvesting resin pot. Each one is different and unique.
We love the story behind these. These pots were tied to pine trees to collect the resin. The resin pots came from the Pyrenees, a mountain range in southwest Europe, that forms a natural border between Spain and France. A tap is placed on the living tree trunk and the pots would be used to catch the resin as it slowly harvested from the tree, this would be done until there is no more resin left in the tree.
They are handmade from terracotta.
We have given them a bit of a clean, but love them in the original state which adds character. They are thick, heavy and strong.
PLEASE NOTE there is some chipping mainly to the top rim. Please be aware when posted there maybe some bits of loose resin in packaging. Due to the nature and age of the item, it is showing some signs of wear which adds to the character. Overall in good vintage condition. Please see photos as these form part of the description.
They would look lovely displayed on a shelf or table as decor, in the garden or planter.
