This listing is for a pair of antique French handmade clay calvados bottles from Normandy.

The decorative bottles are a beautiful architectural piece, the finish is mottled black and slightly earthy rough texture from the natural matte material with a very subtle sheen.

The base material is rough coarse stone clay. They were fired in a wood burning kiln giving the bottle a mottled fire glazed pattern. Originally the bottle would have been used on the Normandy apple farms where calvados was made. Made between 1600-1900!

These are getting harder to find. Great simple decorative items.

Due to the nature and age, they are showing some wear and marking. There might be some stains, marks and chips. This does not affect use and they are watertight. Overall in good vintage condition. Please see photos as these form part of the description.

Size approx: 28cm tall x 8cm wide, opening is approx. 1.5cm diameter.
